Breathwork is a highly underrated tool which has the potential to be involved in many bodily healings.
The breath and nervous system are closely connected, our posture, environment, stress levels, thoughts, energy are also closely connected to our breath and nervous system. However, the breathe is one of the tools we have direct access to to help our nervous system and change our internal state.
We are conditioned to repress our emotions, and as a result these unprocessed emotions get stored up in our body impacting our nervous system and causing physical, mental and emotional pain.
As we engage with and explore our breath we can use it as a tool to help us not only breathe more efficiently on a daily basis, but also go deeper and help this energy (unprocessed emotions) be expressed and released. Breath work can be seen as a self-healing tool, a reset button to help us calm our nervous system down, breathe optimally for our daily lives and process emotional baggage.
